The Quality Inspection Lead provides leadership and work oversight to the final inspection team while leading initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality capabilities, safety, and overall performance within our organization. This role will also work closely with the manufacturing and distribution teams to ensure all stakeholders across the value stream are trained and coached with quality technology.
Primary Duties
- Evaluates and implements new inspection technology to grow our capabilities and efficiencies while maintaining our world class quality levels.
- Trains / coaches quality and manufacturing personnel on inspection tools and techniques.
- Performs inspection on manufactured and purchased components – including – but not limited to – PMI (positive material identification) via Niton gun, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), profilometer
- Ensures quality and standards are followed per drawing specifications/tolerances.
- Ensures material found out of specification is properly identified and quarantined for quality assurance.
- Ensures quality related / customer specific specifications are met – including Production Part Approved Process (PPAP) documentation.
- Develops staff through coaching/mentoring/training.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
- Fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement strategies to close performance gaps and achieve best-in-class status.
- Initiates corrective actions when necessary.
- Train new hires and perform refreshers as necessary.

Qualifications
- Five or more years’ experience in an inspection role
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
- Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and some bending and stoping
- Using tools and equipment
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, phone, and computer equipment
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 3-5 years experience with advanced measuring equipment (CMM, laser, augmented inspection, etc.)
- Keyence IM and FARO Inspection Arm experience a plus
- Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt experience is a plus.
- Familiar with blueprints, routers, and ERP system.
- Business Central is a plus.
