Steel & O’Brien, a leading manufacturer of stainless steel flow control components, is rapidly expanding into the Data Center Cooling (DCC) market by supporting liquid cooling equipment and infrastructure for hyperscale and colocation facilities. The Inside Sales – DCC Channel role supports this growth by processing customer demand, supporting the management customer relationships, and delivering outstanding technical sales support within the Data Cooling Market.
You’ll act as a primary inside sales resource for the sales and operations teams, ensuring that contractors, integrators, and OEM partners receive accurate and timely support while helping drive specification-based growth of our stainless steel fittings, valves, and custom fabrications. This is a customer-facing, detail-oriented role ideal for someone with inside sales experience in industrial or technical manufacturing environments.
Primary Job Duties – Customer Purchase Experience, Product Expertise, Growth
- Customer Sales Support & Execution
- Process RFQs, sales orders, technical requests, and return authorizations for DCC channel partners and end customers.
- Support key channel relationships (OEMs, contractors, distributors) with timely communication and service coverage.
- Provide pricing, availability, and product guidance.
- Growth Enablement & Sales Intelligence
- Assist field sales with quote follow-up, spec verification, and documentation support for liquid cooling applications.
- Maintain and update records of customer activities.
- Technical & Market Expertise
- Develop fluency in Steel & O’Brien’s products as they apply to the data center market.
- Track project trends and report market intelligence to support forecasting and sales planning.
- Interface with engineering and production teams to ensure successful order configuration and delivery.
- Team Collaboration & Coverage
- Provide backup coverage to peers during high-volume periods or absence.
- Collaborate across departments including operations, logistics, and customer service to ensure order accuracy and delivery performance.
Primary Competencies

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving market segment (DCC/technology-focused).
- CRM and ERP system proficiency (Salesforce, MSFT Business Central, or similar preferred).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- 5+ years in inside sales, customer service, or distributor support roles.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Industrial or flow control manufacturing
- Sales through OEM and channel distribution
- Stainless steel or fluid handling components
- Exposure to data center cooling or HVAC systems is a plus
- Must be able to:
