Welder

Location: Arcade, NY

This position will be responsible for performing welding operations on various valve components, ensuring the structural integrity and precision of the valves. You will work closely with other team members to meet production targets, maintain high standards of quality, and comply with safety regulations based on business needs.

Primary Functions

  • Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for jobs. Plans details of working procedures, tools, and materials requirements.
  • Fabricates products for the Assembly Department by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
  • Repairs product by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
  • Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
  • Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut materials to size and shape.
  • Uses sand blaster and glass beading equipment to surface finish manufactured parts.
  • Produces high-quality assembled products in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Operates industrial saw as needed.
  • Maintains high standards of safety and quality.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. Trade school preferred.
  • Completion of welding certifications and/or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 1-3 years of welding experience in school and/or workplace
  • Preferred sufficient in TIG, MIG, Stainless
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job including:
    • Safely navigate a manufacturing environment
    • Extended periods of standing, and able to stoop, bend, twist, push, pull and reach
    • Able to use computer equipment
    • Sufficient manual dexterity for assembly work
    • Able to wear required PPE for welding, saw and assembly work
    • Perform frequent lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
